Landscapers in Horndean and Clanfield
Horndean is a short run north of us, and we cover the villages around it, Clanfield, Lovedean, Catherington and Blendworth, as readily as the centre.
Work we've done in Horndean
The job we're proudest of recently was here: a full driveway renovation in Horndean, with car ports and retaining walls. We've also worked in Clanfield.
What's different about working in Horndean
This is where the town runs out into the downs, and the ground stops being flat. Drives often have to take more than one vehicle and hold a slope at the same time, fence runs are longer and more exposed, and a change in level is better held by a wall than hidden with topsoil. It's the kind of work we like: the groundwork under a drive or a wall is the part that decides whether it still looks right in five years.
Planning and dropped kerbs in Horndean
Horndean, Clanfield and Rowlands Castle sit outside the South Downs National Park, so planning is East Hampshire District Council's. Go north or east of them and you're inside the park, where the National Park Authority is the planning authority, even though East Hampshire's officers often handle the paperwork. For a new driveway there's a second step: the dropped kerb itself is Hampshire County Council's to approve, the owner applies, and the contractor who does the work needs a licence to dig in the highway. The county's own advice is to see that licence before work starts, so ask for it, whoever you use.

Questions people ask us in Horndean
Do you cover the villages as well as Horndean itself?
Yes: Clanfield, Lovedean, Catherington and Blendworth. If the postcode says Horndean but the address says the village, you're still in our patch.
Am I inside the South Downs National Park?
Horndean and Clanfield sit outside it, but the boundary is close, and the National Park Authority has its own rules. The Park's website has a checker for an individual address.
Can you build a drive that takes more than one car?
Yes. The one we're proudest of is here in Horndean: a full driveway renovation with car ports and retaining walls.
