We are just up the A3 from Portsmouth, which makes the city and the northern suburbs — Cosham, Drayton, Farlington — straightforward for us to reach.
City gardens ask for different work to the ones out in the villages. Space is usually tight, access is often through the house or a narrow side alley, and the job is more likely to be a courtyard laid properly, a small patio, or a boundary rebuilt between terraces than a full landscape scheme. We are set up for that: everything barrowed in where it has to be, and the site left clean at the end of each day rather than at the end of the job.
